For authors
Preparing your proposal

We are pleased to evaluate proposals for books and book series within the subject areas that we are actively developing.
Preparing your proposal
We have put together guidelines to help you prepare your book or series proposal. Some series have slightly different proposal guidelines, so do check the series page first if you are proposing a book for an existing series.
Proposal guidelines
Submitting your book proposal
To submit, email your proposal together with your sample material as Word documents to the commissioning editor for your subject. Your commissioning editor will read your proposal and decide whether it fits within the scope of our publishing. If it does, they will let you know that we’d like to take your proposal forward and offer initial suggestions on how to strengthen your proposal before sending it out for academic peer review.
We ask for sole consideration of your project while it is under review.
- Meet the editorial team – find out who to send your book proposal to
- Browse our book series – find out whether the series you want to publish in has extra submission guidelines
The next step
Once you have received feedback from your commissioning editor, your proposal and supporting materials will be sent out for review.
