We are pleased to announce that we will be publishing Legal Information Management from 2026.

Edinburgh University Press (EUP) will become the new publisher of Legal Information Management (LIM), the official journal of the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL), starting 2026.
The transition follows an 18-month search to replace Cambridge University Press (CUP), which has published LIM since 2004. The final issue under CUP will publish at the end of 2025.
A key change accompanying this move is the decision to discontinue the journal's print edition and to move to an online-only format.
Helen Garner, outgoing chair of the LIM Editorial Board, led the publisher search. 'Our final choice was Edinburgh University Press due to their long-standing commitment to academic journal publishing and excellent reputation within the publishing world,' she said. 'We believe that partnering with EUP offers LIM the opportunity to expand its readership and to work with a publisher that understands and values the needs of a specialist journal.'
LIM co-editor Jas Breslin acknowledged the challenge of finding a successor to CUP, noting the professionalism of the outgoing publisher, but expressed confidence in the transition: 'With EUP we feel we have the perfect replacement.'
Sarah McDonald, Head of Publishing at EUP, welcomed the journal to Press's portfolio. 'LIM is a fantastic fit with our publishing in law and library information,' she said. 'We're looking forward to working with the LIM editors and BIALL to enhance the journal's reach and impact within the academic and legal information communities.'
The first issue of Legal Information Management under EUP will be published online in March 2026.
