EUP is pleased to confirm a new partnership with theIPregistry.org that will further enhance the service we offer to our library customers worldwide.
This partnership will make the process of checking, monitoring and updating the IP addresses used to authenticate access to content easier for subscribers. We will transition to use the data held by theIPregistry.org from 11th November, and librarians will no longer need to separately update our customer services team.
We’re introducing this new upgrade to our publishing service because we are committed to providing the highest possible standards for providing access to our customers, and theIPregistry.org allows libraries to manage their IP addresses and broadcast changes to multiple publishers, including Edinburgh University Press, from a secure, central location with one click.
Ben Summers-McKay, Senior Subscriptions Manager, said, ‘Joining the PSI IP registry will remove a layer of complexity around institutional access, streamlining our service to librarians and improving the reader experience.’
If you are a librarian you can find out more here: https://app.theipregistry.org/
TheIPregistry.org is a single repository of the verified IP addresses for over 72,000 content licensing organisations worldwide. TheIPregistry.org is maintained for the benefit of the whole scholarly communication community. It is accessible to both libraries and publishers and is the only registry that checks and verifies IP addresses to eliminate the errors that commonly occur.
EUP connects people and ideas to inspire creative thinking, open new perspectives and shape the world we live in. We support the global community of authors, readers, librarians and our university by publishing progressive academic research in our chosen subject areas.
